NEW, 2-gang Aqara smart Zigbee relay module, with built-in power meter and interlock mode for motor control.
It both supports dry contact (voltage free) switching, and DC por AC switching, so it supports a wide range of applications.
It can be used either to be installed behind a traditional 2-button wall switch to control two lighting circuits, or to control bi-directional motors such as motorised shades, curtain motors, motorised roller shutters / covers, and gate openers. It can also be used to "convert a traditional switch into a wireless switch": that is, to control other devices / circuits from the wall switch via an Aqara Zigbee hub.
When paired with an Aqara hub, it can also be controlled remotely from other Aqara wireless devices such as Aqara's two-button wireless wall switches, Aqara remote controller button, or Aqara scene control cube.
Both phase and neutral wires are required for operation, and both circuits have an input for wall switches, so that the smart controller can also be switched from a wall switch.
The outputs "L1" and "L2" will switch the voltage connected to "L OUT". In the case of dry contact control, the switching is done between "L1-L OUT" and "L-L OUT". If 230V AC devices are to be controlled by the module, the "L IN - L OUT" terminals must be short-circuited using the short-circuit wire in the box.
Although the outputs can be switched independently, they are connected to the same "L OUT" terminal, so that only the same voltage level can be used for the two relay outputs.
Thanks to the built-in energy meter, the module can also be used to monitor the energy consumption of controlled devices.
The module is supplied with a mounting adapter that can be screwed to a wall or put onto a standard DIN rail, so it can be used in a wall socket, or installed in a DIN rail in an electric cabinet, or installed near the electronic device (e.g. light).
For use in a wall socket: it is recommended to use a lerger wall box, e.g. an octagonal Kaiser box, as some 65 mm fitting boxes will not fit the module.
The smart module uses the Zigbee 3.0 wireless communication protocol to communicate with the central module, so the module requires the Aqara Hub, a Zigbee central unit, for its smart features and remote control.
It can be paired with the Aqara hub and is compatible with a range of other systems: it is Apple HomeKit compatible, Google Home, Alexa compatible, works with IFTTT and is compatible with systems using the Matter standard .
