Shelly BLU Door Window sensor is a new product from the European manufacturer, released at the end of June 2023: a very small, battery-powered door/window opening sensor using Bluetooth technology.
The device can connect to the Bluetooth receiver of a Shelly Plus or Shelly Pro relay module and use it to connect to other Shelly devices on the local network or on the internet. The device is also equipped with a light sensor, sp you can create a control that only switches on the lights when opening a door when it is dark.
And thanks to the built-in tilt sensor, you can also install it on sliding windows and sliding doors and create automation for tilting at a given angle, distinguishing between opening and closing.
It can be attached to the door or window with the (supplied) double-sided adhesive tape.
According to factory specification, the Bluetooth range is max. 10m indoors and max. 30m outdoors, within which it can be paired and operated with an installed Shelly Plus or Pro series relay, to be used as a Bluetooth gateway.
By default, the device sends information about the open/closed status, brightness and the battery status immediately upon an open/close status change, and then sends information about the tilt angle a few seconds later.
When switched to beacon mode, the open/closed status, the angle of tilt, the light level and the battery status are sent every 30 seconds, which probably causes a shorter battery life.
The device is compatible with Shelly's Bluetooth-enabled smart home system, such as the Shelly Plus and Pro series of relay modules, and can be paired with them using the Shelly Smart Control app. But it is also compatible with other devices and platforms that support the Shelly Blu Door Window sensor BTHome protocol, for more information visit www.bthome.io.
